| who is Poe, anyway? | Poe (Annie Decatur Danielewski) is a singer/songwriter who made her debut with "Hello" in 1996. At the time, she was lumped into the "Angry Women" genre with Alanis Morissette, but Poe's much deeper than that. Nearly five years after her debut, Poe came out with "Haunted," a 70-minute follow up. Haunted has been a great success among Poe fans, but hasn't become much of a commercial success. This is largely due to the sickening state the music world is in. Poe's no Britney. Be sure to call up your radio stations and request Poe! In late 2001, after her summer tour opening for Depeche Mode, and in the middle of a nationwide club tour, Poe's record label, Atlantic Records, indirectly dropped her. But don't worry, Poe will be fine. Poe has her Angry Psychos and countless supporters such as myself behind her! |
